Intellectual Property (“IP”) can be a complex area of law, yet IP issues arise regularly for practitioners in all areas:  trusts and estates, family law, and even criminal defense.  This presentation will provide an overview of IP by discussing specific scenarios arising in these various other types of practices.  Topics covered will include:
 
* What is IP?
* What types of IP are regularly owned by individuals and small businesses?
* What issues frequently arise for non-IP practitioners?
* What are the ethical issues related to resolving these matters?
* What are the main takeaways non-IP practitioners should keep in mind to ethically and professionally represent their clients? 
 
This presentation is designed for attorneys of all backgrounds, and includes .25 hours of ethics.
