Topic: Consumer FIled Bankruptcy, What Does that mean for businesses that extended credit?

The presentation will focus on what in-house legal departments need to do to protect their company from stay and/or discharge violations when a consumer files bankruptcy. Relevant bankruptcy terminology, basic bankruptcy procedure, and company processes and/or filings will be discussed. This includes when to file a POC, object to a plan, or seek relief from the automatic stay. In addition, a brief overview of new bankruptcy rules set to take effect December 1, 2017 will be introduced.
