DESCRIPTION:\n \nPlease contact Cyndi Porter Gore, Chair, for any questions: cyndi@defendingkids.com\n \n \n \nCOLLIN COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION\n \nJUVENILE LAW SECTION VIRTUAL MEETING\n \nSEPTEMBER 21, NOON\n \nTOPIC: Sealing Juvenile Records\n \nThis Presentation will address the historical changes of the sealing process.  The current sealing process will be discussed along with an in depth analysis of Chapter 58 TFC.  Practical tips and pitfalls to watch out for will be discussed. \nSPEAKER: Cyndi Porter Gore \nCyndi graduated from Texas Tech with both her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications (1989) and her J.D. (1994). After graduating she worked for a year for the Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney’s Office and then relocated to DFW, where she spent 4 ½ years prosecuting for Collin County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. Her final assignment was in the Juvenile Division. After opening her own firm in 1999, she became Board Certified in Criminal Law in 2000 and in Juvenile Law in 2008. After spending 17 years defending kids and adults, she accepted the appointment as Presiding Judge for the Allen Municipal Court in January 2017. Her passion for kids continues with the Allen Teen Court Diversionary Program and Teen Court Academy and a small juvenile side practice. To better assist those defendants that appear before her, she has also created a Specialized Dockets for Adults and Juveniles with mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Cyndi currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Juvenile Council for the Juvenile Section of the State Bar of Texas, Secretary for the Curt B.
