CIVIL LITIGATION/APPELLATE SECTION MEETING

NOVEMBER 16, NOON

KELLY'S CRAFT TAVERN, 3191 PRESTON ROAD, FRISCO

SPEAKER: Judge Flint

TOPIC: Understanding the New Business Trial and Appellate Courts

This summer, the Texas Legislature created a new state-wide system of business courts and an appellate court, capping a multi-year effort by various groups to duplicate a form of the Delaware business court system.  These courts will come into existence in September, 2024, but planning has already begun.  The jurisdiction of these courts is complex and will need to be understood by counsel involved in business disputes.  Proposed new rules for the new courts are presently being formulated and a first draft is being circulated.    Come get the latest info on the new landscape in business litigation.
