TOPIC: Calling the Bullpen: What to Do When Outside Counsel Loses Control of Your Case
Litigation fatigue or frustration occurs in virtually all litigation matters, but what happens when you feel like your case is out of control (i.e. high fees, strategic mistakes, adverse rulings)? Over the past five years, Mr. Cheek has developed a niche practice involving taking over cases from other firms in the middle of litigation. This presentation provides in house counsel with: (1) the tools to differentiate between ordinary litigation fatigue and a situation where a change in counsel or strategy is necessary; (2) a checklist of what to do once a change is made; and (3) strategies for getting your case back in control.
