Creditor’s claims against an estate can materially affect the estate’s assets, but allowances and exemptions are available. Mr. Griffin will provide practical advice on how to deal with creditor’s claims in independent and dependent administrations, as well as in guardianship matters. Mr. Griffin has been practicing for more than 40 years in the areas of probate and estate planning, with an emphasis on estate administration and guardianships. He serves as a mediator in these areas, in addition to probate and trust litigation matters. Mr. Griffin frequently lectures on the topic of Creditor’s Issues and was recently awarded the Dallas Bar Association Probate Trusts and Estates Section Lifetime Achievement Award.
