TOPIC: Charitable Planning Tools
Nicola Lawrence, Director of Legacy and Gift Planning at Children’s Medical Center, will speak on how charitable planning tools may meet our client’s urgent need to reduce or avoid estate tax due to the impending reduction in the estate tax exemption and increase in capital gains tax rate. With so many recent changes to charitable contributions this presentation will discuss how to maximize tax savings by making charitable gifts. A look at how donating appreciated property, utilizing the 100% AGI limitation, and establishing a charitable lead annuity trust (CLAT), as well as other strategies for charity donations, considering the current economic environment. Ms. Lawrence is a Charter Advisor in Philanthropy and a Certified Fund Raising Executive, and brings more than 20 years of experience leading non-profits in legacy-based giving.
