SOLO/SMALL FIRM SECTION VIRTUAL MEETING

SEPTEMBER 27, NOON

Topic: Texas Lawyers and Social Media

The focus of the presentation is knowing the rules for communications about lawyers' services, advertisements, prohibited communications, communications exempt from filing requirements, and managing non-client relationships.  This presentation is about lawyers having a social media presence that is compliant with Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct.  At the end of the presentation, participants will have more familiarity with different social media platforms and understand how they can use public education activities on social media.

Speaker: Natalie H. Guadalupe, Esq. (Hobson-Guadalupe Law, PLLC)

Natalie Hobson-Guadalupe has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Baylor University (2002). After college, she earned a master's degree from the University of Maryland at College Park and became a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (2005). After working as a licensed therapist, Natalie attended the American University Washington College of Law where she earned her JD (2011). She spent the next 8 years working in mortgage compliance, auto-finance compliance advising, and inhouse counsel while also taking a number of pro-bono family law cases. After the birth of her youngest daughter, Natalie decided to practice family law full time where she became an associate attorney at a Frisco law firm. Recently, and with the help of her supportive husband, Eric, Natalie launched Hobson-Guadalupe Law, PLLC, in McKinney, Texas. As both a licensed therapist and an attorney licensed in the states of Maryland (2012) and Texas (2014), she brings a caring approach to the different aspects of her clients' divorce, child support, custody, and/or visitation cases. In her free time, Natalie enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. A fun fact about Natalie is that she also enjoys making TikTok videos as an outlet for public education.
