TOPIC: “Reports of My Death are Greatly Exaggerated: TCPA after the 2019 amendments”
This presentation will address the 2019 amendments to the Texas Citizens Participation Act, the differences between the pre-Sept 1 2019 statute and the earlier version which is still applicable to lawsuits filed before September 1, 2019, rationale for the amendments according to the bill’s sponsors and concerns expressed by some groups over the proposed amendments. If time allows, the presenters will include some hypothetical scenarios involving the TCPA for audience participation.
